During the day, Green Ink is Alina Nguyen who works as a curator for the local museum. She’s heavily tattooed, so she must hide her tattoos under her costume at all costs because tattoos are easy methods of identification without having to memorize faces. Thus, her costume must hide something that is directly connected to herself. Her costume is a two-piece suit made of green leather. Since she is a fan of fashion, she wanted it to be a contemporary design but her logo to be at the center of her chest like many other superheroes in the past in order to keep some originality. Additionally, her love of graphic design helped her when creating her superhero logo. She also has an eye mask with thin lens attached because she wears prescription glasses and cannot see without them. She also has green gloves and comfortable leather green boots. At this time, no one knows the true identity of Green Ink. Being a person of color, growing up was hard for her and being mixed raced didn’t help either. She didn’t feel like she fit in with her Asian friends because she was aware that she looked different and she knew she would never be considered white. However, college was a time for her to find herself and become accepting of both of her backgrounds as one rather than separate. Since she was a kid, she wanted to get tattoos. Yes, she did buy those temporary ones from laundromat machines that only cost a quarter. She would put those on and pretend that they were permanent. When she turned 18, she knew she had to get her first real tattoo. She became a tattoo collector and enthusiast. Now at 22, her upper body is covered with tattoos except for her face and neck. Unknowingly to her, the last tattoo of a tattoo gun would change her life forever. She did not know that she was allergic to green tattoo ink. The ink changed something within her and she discovered that she can ooze out green tattoo ink that freezes anything in site. Then, she decided to create her own weapons that look like tattoo guns. She has gun-like holsters designed to fit the tattoo guns securely. Further, she has some ports in her body that she injects tubes to retain the green ooze. She has always been a fan of comic books and its superheroes so she was enthralled by the idea of becoming one herself. Growing up, she was lucky to have people in her life who cared for her and saw potential in her when she never did. Thus, becoming the Green Ink will allow her to help people in need who might not have as much support as she had. Also, to rid her city of its oldest villain: Dr. Tsicar. My lovely friend Kristina is a wonderful artist and cosplayer who took my sketch and made Green Ink become a reality! My SUPER rough sketch. Thank you very much for reading!
